Wind farm turbines. Wind turbines are used to generate electricity from the winds formed by the heating of the Earth by the Sun. They are an environmentally-friendly source of energy, as they release no toxic waste products and do not rely on a limited resource for fuel. These wind turbines are part of Windpark Jaap Rodenburg, built on a polder (Almere Pampus) near Almere, Flevoland, the Netherlands. Opened in 2000, this wind farm has ten wind turbines from Nuon. Photographed in May 2018.
