Bone scintigram (anterior and posterior view) of the whole body of an adult patient with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (algodystrophy) affecting the right hand (bright). The left foot joint also shows a hotspot. Algodystrophy is a painful wasting of the muscles of the hands, often with loss of bone calcium, and may also occur in the feet or legs. It may be associated with injury, heart disease, stroke or a virus. Bone scintigram labelled with Tc-99m-MDP.
