X-ray (front view) of the dorsolumbar spine of a female patient aged 22, showing vertebral tuberculosis (Pott's disease). At upper centre, compression of two thoracic vertebrae (T10 and T11) is seen. Pott's disease causes the softening, collapse and inflammation of vertebrae, and often leads to a hunchback deformity. It is a secondary disease to TB where the tuberculosis bacteria move from the lungs to the spine.
