Emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri), illustration. This is the largest of the penguins, standing up to 120 centimetres tall. It inhabits Antarctica, spending much of its time at sea, but coming ashore to breed. It is the only penguin to breed in Antarctica during the winter. The emperor penguin feeds on fish and squid.
