Doppler wind profiler radar for the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. This radar equipment is being installed near the Shuttle Landing Facility runway at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The profiler is being upgraded to a new version that will help forecasters and launch teams characterize upper-level winds in the area. This profiler will help in the detection of wind-shear conditions during launch, helping to decide whether it is safe to launch rockets and other spacecraft. Photographed in August 2014.
