Restoration of Roman ceramic vessel. Restorer working on a Roman 'cratere', a large ceramic vessel used for a mixture of water and wine. This vessels is from the area of Naples, Italy, a region rich in Roman remains, including those found at Pompeii, a Roman town destroyed by the eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Photographed in 2017, at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
