Apollo 11 Lunar Module seen from the Command/Service Module after the separation of the spacecraft. The CSM remaining in orbit around the Moon while the Lunar Module, called Eagle, made the historic first landing on the Moon. Eagle touched down on the Moon on 20th July 1969. It was piloted by Neil Armstrong, who became the first person to walk on the Moon. He was accompanied by Buzz Aldrin, while Michael Collins remained in the CSM.
