A caterpillar larva of the Orange-Tip butterfly, (Anthocharis cardamines), developing on the seed pods of garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata), also known as Jack-by-the-hedge. The larva feeds on the developing seed pods, and the pupa remains attached to the plant by silk. The row of spiracles along the body is visible; these are openings through which the creature breathes. Along the body are pairs of tube feet that anchor the larva to the plant.
