Pancreatic hormone molecule. Molecular model showing the secondary structure of the hormone known as pancreatic polypeptide (PP). Hydrogen bonding is shown by alpha helices (coils) and random coils (wires). PP is secreted by PP cells in the pancreas as part of the endocrine system. It regulates endocrine and exocrine pancreatic secretion activities and also has effects on liver (hepatic) glycogen levels and gastrointestinal secretions.
