IC 417 nebulae, infrared SST image. These nebulae are around 10,000 light years from Earth, in the constellation of Auriga. A cluster of young stars called 'Stock 8' (centre right) is carving out a space within the nebulae. Young stars (red points) are visible at centre. Image data obtained by the IRAC (Infrared Array Camera) sensor on the Spitzer Space Telescope (SST). The background image data is from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS). Image published in 2016.
