Inhibin beta A molecule. Computer model showing the crystal structure of a molecule of the protein Inhibin beta A (INHBA). The crystal structure consists of both the secondary structure, represented by alpha helices (ribbons) beta sheets (arrows) and random coils (wires), and the primary structure (balls and sticks). INHBA is a subunit of both activin and inhibin, two closely related glycoproteins. The INHBA subunit joins another (alpha) subunit to inhibit the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). FSH regulates the development, growth, puberty maturation, and reproductive processes of the body.
