Caption

Close-up of the scalp of an elderly patient, showing squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer). This second most common type of skin cancer affects the upper squamous cells of the skin, but tumours may spread (metastasise) to other parts of the body. Mostly affecting the elderly, it is commonly caused by sun damage.
