Caption

Light micrograph of a liver needle biopsy in haemochromatosis. The hepatocytes show large iron deposits which appear as brown granules. Haemochromatosis is a genetic (autosomal recessive) iron disorder, which results in increased iron absorption from intestine and excess iron storage in several organs, mostly the liver.
