The First Cannon at Crecy, 1902. A major engagement of the Hundred Years War between England and France (1337-1453). Edward III of England and his son Edward, the Black Prince, led their army of some 12,000 men to victory over Philip VI of France and his army of 30,000-40,000. After a work by Patten Wilson (1869-1934). From A Child's History of England by Charles Dickens (J. M. Dent and Co., New York, 1902).
