Spherical Islamic astrolabe, 15th century. Dating from 1480-81, this is the only complete surviving spherical astrolabe. Tt is a finely worked decorative brass globe made of two hemispheres that screw together. This astrolabe is signed 'Work of Musa. Year 885 A.H.' [A.D. 1480-81].
