Caption

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) scan. Reconstructed brain white matter fibres of the corpus callosum that connects the two sides of our brain, and the cingulum bundle that keeps track of error corrections and pain assessments. DTI offers a non-invasive look into how white matter, the highways of our brain, connect distant brain regions. Each fiber shown represents many thousands of actual fibres in the human brain. Colours are coded as; left to right - red, anterior to posterior - green, and superior to inferior - blue.
