View of the top of the 22-foot diameter, circular, stainless steel vacuum chamber which contains the 15- foot bubble chamber at Fermilab, Illinois. The photograph shows several of the "portholes" where cameras are placed to photograph events in the bubble chamber. A113/046. A camera can be seen in place in the foremost porthole. It has a 37 mm lens with a 108 degree field of view and uses 70 mm black-and-white film of a special type. The events in the chamber are illuminated by circular xenon discharge tubes (not visible in the photograph).
