Infectious mononucleosis. Caused by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), mono is transmitted through saliva. It is often referred to as the ''kissing disease.'' Some symptoms include fatigue, sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes, swollen spleen, night sweats and loss of appetite.
