This lateral (from the side) view from a catheter cerebral angiogram via injection into the internal carotid artery shows the typical appearance of a Pial Arterial Venous Fistula representing an abnormal connection between an artery and vein (with abscess of the intervening capillary bed). This is called an AV (arterial venous) fistula.
