Days after Hurricane Harvey first made landfall in Texas in August, 2017, the entrance to a Houston residential subdivision remained underwater. The flooding in this part of Houston was impacted by Harvey's rainstorm and water released from the Addicks Dam. When the Addicks Reservoir started to overflow, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began releasing water from the dam, which had already started to overflow.
