Sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) eating a crab. The sacred ibis is a carnivorous bird that probes for small animals in wetlands, grassland and fields. It also eats offal or carrion and sometimes feeds in rubbish dumps. The sacred ibis is native to sub-Saharan Africa but colonies have been established elsewhere.
