In microcytic anaemia, the red blood cells are usually hypochromic and appear paler than usual based on lower haemoglobin content. Here is one normal lymphocyte the size of which is much larger than that of the erythrocytes. Light micrograph, Wright-Giemsa stain. Magnification: 100x.
