Lytic lesion of the lower third of the right femur. Bone biopsy reveals a plasmacytoma. A solitary bone plasmocytoma of the lower 1/3 of the femur as part of a POEMS syndrome. POEMS syndrome is a rare blood disorder that damages your nerves and affects many other parts of the body. Lytic lesions are light areas found in otherwise dense bone on an x-ray, which suggest that something has destroyed or replaced that part of bone.
