A male Spotfin Chub (Erimonax monachus) swimming in the current of an eastern Tennessee river, photographed in-situ in 2018. Males develop bright coloration and tubercles on their heads during the breeding season. This is a federally listed threatened species. The species has disappeared from a number of drainages but has been bred in captivity by Conservation Fisheries Inc. Populations have been established in formerly occupied habitat.
