Mount Unzen, satellite image. Satellite image showing part of the island of Kyushu with smoke rising from the erupting Mount Unzen (centre). Water is blue, vegetation is green, cloud, snow and ice are white. Unzen is an active volcanic group of several overlapping stratovolcanoes, near the city of Shimabara, on the island of Kyushu, Japan. This eruption lasted from 1990 to 1995. Imaged in May 1993.
