Beaverhead crater, satellite image. The Beaverhead meteor impact crater (centre) is situated in central Idaho and western Montana, USA. It is one of the largest impact craters on Earth, measuring approximately 60 kilometres in diameter, and is thought to have been formed around 600 million years ago (early Neoproterozoic).
