Voicebox examination. Surgeon using a gastroscope (held in his hands) to examine a patient's voicebox, or larynx. A gastroscope is a type of endoscope (flexible fibre optic tube mounted on a camera) that is inserted through the mouth to examine the upper digestive system. The tube can have tools on the end, which can be used to perform a biopsy (taking a tissue sample for testing in the laboratory).
