Robot Insects

With their spindly legs and antennae, most of the army of robots built by Los Alamos scientist Mark Tilden look like insects of one kind or another. And they behave like them too with their scuttling unpredictable behaviour. Without the aid of a single microchip, these robots are built using simple and cheap electronic components to form a 'nervous net' allowing them to move and act on their own.
