Dirt In The Home

The average vacuum cleaner sucks up over 11 kilos of dust a year from the floors of a typical house. Dust is everywhere but other household dirt includes limescale, mould, spores, crumbs, fat, and all manner of grime. In addition, there are the countless invisible bacteria and viruses. Here, the scanning electron microscope reveals what we battle to clean away.
