Maneating Tigers

A century ago, some 40,000 tigers roamed the forests of India. Today, there are fewer than 4,000 of the world's largest cats on the subcontinent. Even though India has no fewer than 28 tiger reserves, they are not safe havens for the iconic cats. Population pressure means that tigers and humans have become uneasy neighbours.
