Amazing animal eyes

Being able to see the world around us is something most of us take for granted. Thanks to three different types of photoreceptors, we can see a rich palette of colours. Our eyes are positioned to give us good forward and peripheral vision. And, thanks to the fact that our pupils dilate, we can also cope pretty well with very dim or very bright light. But there are many animals that make our eyes seem like nothing more than pinhole cameras by comparison. Imagine having telescopic vision, or seeing light in the form of waves or ‘invisible’ parts of the spectrum? How about magneto vision?
