Medical Detecting Dogs

A team of highly trained dogs can help save lives by detecting cancer and other diseases. UK based charity Medical Detection Dogs and the NHS are trialling dogs that can sniff out the minute chemical changes that accompany cancer in blood and urine samples. With their highly sensitive noses, trained dogs are more successful at detecting positive results compared to some conventional blood and urine tests. Diabetic alert dogs are also trained to sniff out the odour changes that accompany a diabetic suffering experiencing low or high blood sugar.
