Juno meets Jupiter

On the 4th July, following a five year voyage of 1.5 billion miles, the spacecraft Juno arrives at Jupiter. With a payload of scientific instruments its mission is to penetrate the swirling clouds of the giant planet to study its origin, evolution and role in the formation of the solar system. After two years of study Juno will end its career “with a death dive straight into Saturn”. View a slideshow. See the slideshow.
