Colon cancer awareness month
Colon cancer is the third most common cancer and the second biggest killer in the UK.
Since the early 2000s numerous charities and organisations around the world have worked
tirelessly to provide support to those affected.
We are joining our friends in Germany in a wonderful initiative by The Felix Burda Foundation.
The Felix Burda Stiftung is a non-profit organisation founded by Dr. Christa Maar and Dr. Hubert
Burda in the loving memory of their son. Felix Burda sadly lost his life to colon cancer at the age of 33.
Recent reports suggest that colon cancer rates are rising in young adults. This March’s campaign by
The Felix Burda Stiftung highlights the importance of early screening. It also encourages conversations
between families as a third of all new cases are hereditary.
