Project Sirius

The world's most sophisticated traffic and information system is about to undergo trials in Paris. Known as project Sirius, the joint venture between the French government and industry warns drivers of jams ahead, indicates the most direct route to their destination, and can even give details about availability of car parking and weather conditions. The Paris tests are just the beginning - the manufacturers hope to have Europe wide coverage by 1996.
